You
are invited to join me on this third page as I progress in my
new life in France.
The River Lot is now warm enough and high enough
for swimming and as my plunge pool is not ready yet this is ideal
in such heat.
It also gives me a chance to study the wildlife
further. Tench are still nesting in my weed margins and huge shoals
of small fry are now innocently swarming around me as I swim.
The Dragon and Damsel flies are buzzing about and
small Sun Bass lurk after the fry.
My Barbeque works well and my first social evening
with new friends appears successful.
The Lime trees are producing flowers that I am told,
when dried, are good for an infusion.
Julia, my eldest daughter has just visited and made
use of the tractor mower.
Also some air rifle shooting at a tin can!
The views from surrounding walks are magnificent,
and many species of butterflies are now abundant.
Wild cherries are available - and on the right is
a picture of the traditional slate roofs here.
