This was my first experience of the grape harvest
and I was allowed to give light assistance and photograph. Unfortunately
many small vineyards are closing down and this is, sadly, the
last year of this one. It was good to make a film of it's last
days both as a record but also as a most enjoyable experience.
I have since tasted a bottle of the Vin Nouveau, wonderfully fruity
and musty.
At this time of year the countryside is abundant
with fruits, fungi and wild nuts and berries!
Wonderful walks in Autumn colours, where one can
pick up boxes of chestnuts, walnuts, berries and all sorts of
goodies. Plenty for all -- free!
At last I have had a chance to sail on the river
Lot at Le Paradou! One roof has been stripped and builders have
promised to start Monday - 11th October. I am expanding my exploration
of France and have been to the coast - had a wonderful swim in
warm seas at the Carmarge and painted on my return in the Gorge
of the Tarne where huge Vultures watched me from high above. Perhaps
hoping for a tasty meal? Not yet mate!
It is also time to start making Sloe Gin and Cider
for Christmas! Plus work continues to remove asbestos from the
old building.
