Spring - Summer - 2007.

Early Spring brings rain and high water at Le Paradou, fortunately controlled by the dam further down river. But it also brings our free winter fuel, logs are swept down and the lawn becomes log city! Early morning mists are wonderful. I have built a new dove cote and am establishing a pair of pigeons. It is also time to add to our fresh egg producers, so I visit the market and purchase four new hens.

I am looking forward to a major project, that has now been agreed by the Mayor of Le Nayrac, where I have offered to paint murals in the small chapel just a short distance from here. It is the chapel built in dedication of the "femme du blanche," daughter of the Lord of Estaing, renovated once in 1297. I have already produced an album of music I play here - echoing down this gorge, also dedicated to this sad but romantic tale of her demise. See my separate page entirely on this project? No 10 on homepage.

The gardens are doing very well this year and I have moved the caravan from one side of the garden to the other allowing a second vegatable plot. The pigeons are now sitting on two eggs! Plus we have built a new fish pond for Koi Carp, using free local stone from the roadside.

Patrick enjoys archery here, the fish pond becomes established, Le Paradou nestling in the Gorge Du Lot and the Mayor of Le Nayrac and team, who are also working on the chapel project, making a visit on my boat to the site.

Summer is here and it is good to have friends to eat outside with us.

The house and garden at Le Paradou is looking are I had planned and it is just the gallery, cafe, and bedrooms to finish - plus another bedroom to add for Patrick.

The meadows are almost in full flower and, as always, the wildlife is wonderful.
